Summer Lists

I am a list person.  Always have been.  I remember back even in high school creating these colorful lists of things that I had to do.  That lovely ocd trait of mine has remained with me this far and I still enjoy sitting down with a colorful marker, cute note pad and a brain full of ideas to write down.  This summer though, I have new list.

This list is of things I WANT to do, not things that I HAVE to do!  (One of the items on this list is to do this blog thing again!  Epic fail!)  Since I was probably 15, this is the first summer for me!  I am home, with my son, no school, no agenda, no deadlines, no nothing.

I sat here the past few days and realized where I am at.  It is a great place for me when I look back and see where God has brought me too.  Oh to be eighteen again, but would I really want to be?  Have a list full of things that seemed so important at the time, but then I look before me, to the precious 2 year old that has captivated me and totally taught me to make a list like the one I have before me for the summer.

Katie's Summer To Do List
1) Potty Train the boy (successfully working on this!  GO MY BOY!!!)
2) Color and read lots of books!  (check!)

What else is coming on this list, well, we will see!  For this is the summer to truly go day by day and see what tomorrow holds!  Hooray!!

Crazy Busy!

I knew it was going to happen when I started this!  I have already neglected this blog and I am only a few posts in to it.  (Kent now has the password to this, so if anything strange happens, blame him!)  We been going non-stop since the beginning of September but we would not have it any other way.  Between class, church, football, work, football, Jake, more church, more football, we are some tired people!  We are so blessed and are enjoying every second that we have spent together as a family through all of it!  We have incredible friends and family and are glad that we get to share these times with them!

We went and thanked Bobby for all the memories!

Jake went to his first parade and loved it!
He was very into people watching and seeing all that was coming down street.
Went to my second Georgia football game and slept over half of it away.  He did wake up for the fourth quarter!  (love the nilla wafer in the hand, thank goodness for snackies to keep him occupied!)
He's getting a haircut tomorrow.  Wow!
He loves to kiss his buddy Austin's feet.
These boys are bound to be best buds!  So thankful for such wonderful friends!

Maybe it won't be another month before I decide to get back on here.  We will see!

Date Night

I had date night tonight with my little man.  We dined at Chick Fil A and shopped out Publix, too stores that I am just slightly obsessed with.  (Kent would say I am over the top with both!)  How can you not love it when they give your son the super special spicy chicken sandwich balloon with a cow on it?  Needless to say I was pretty proud to walk across the parking lot with Jake in one hand and balloon in the other.  (Note that it was one sticky hand from dipping his nuggies into his Polynesian sauce!)

Completely asleep-this is what I could do all day-not sleep, but just watch him sleep.  Can I just have this moment each day to capture this memory?

Here we go...

A whole new thing to do!  We will see how far this goes...
